National Youth Championships for Girls 2024

Updated: Jul 15, 2024

A special opportunity for academy head coach, Jerrad Tyson, earlier this month who joined the Football Queensland technical staff for the National Youth Championships for Girls 2024 in Melbourne.

Held at the home of the Matilda’s, this important talent ID event brought the best U15 and U16 players from across the country together to fight for the title of National Champions in front of national team selectors and A-Leagues coaches.

During the week long event, Jerrad was able to work closely with head of goalkeeping for FQ, Dale Hill, who has been instrumental in the creation of pathways, high level programs and the development of our states most promising young goalkeepers.

He was also able to network with other state and national level coaches and see first hand the quality and standard of goalkeepers currently being developed nation wide. This was an invaluable experience that will help Jerrad to continue to improve ONE Goalkeeping and further develop the training programs to align with best practice and established player pathways.

Special thanks again to FQ and congratulations to the 8 #TeamQLD goalkeepers who all had fantastic tournaments in showcasing their abilities and fighting for the state!

The U15 side pictured finished runners up in the final. An outstanding achievement for these talented young ladies.
